Let us work for you! With a passion for words and images and fun, we can provide you with the services you need, while having a good time. Even if your goal is to create materials for a serious audience, we encourage everyone we work with to enjoy creating compelling products for their customers.
Our clientele runs the gamut. We have done small and large projects for our clients, enjoying the challenges that working with different groups and different audiences demands. One thing all our clients share, however, is a passion for high-quality work, a passion with which we agree.

From 1999 through 2005, we created Macworld's monthly newsstand CD-ROM, called the Macworld Resource CD. This disc provided Macworld's readers with tips, tricks, and product demos, as well as comparative buying information. Our responsibilities on this project included writing, editing, designing, and programming the interactive content for an eclectic segment of Macworld's readers. We also created several special issue CD-ROMs and DVD-ROMs focused on special themes, such as new versions of Mac OS X, digital images, games and media.
Since late 2009, we have updated the Mac Gems CD and expanded the Macworld Gaming MegaPac into a DVD with over 4GB of demos, reviews, and tips.
We mastered and provided artwork and design refinements for the 2009 PCWorld Security & Privacy CD, a CD-ROM customized for Windows using a Flash interface. The disc includes 300+ tips, nearly 20 software installers, and how-to videos related to security on the PC. We have also created updates of the Mastering Windows CD and the Tune-Up All-Stars CD. In summer of 2011, we are schedule to begin our fourth update for PCWorld.
Differentiating oneself in the competitive world of real estate is a tall order. This was our task when undertaking a new web site for a local real estate agent. So far, the client has gotten many positive comments about the clean and clear design. As the business grows, we are continuing to add features and make improvements to meet the clients needs.
The Right Move Group
Originally redesigning their site in 2001, we returned in 2008 to redesign The Right Move Group's web site, this time with the goal of creating a special content area for their relocation candidates and transferees. In addition to the site and the special content area, we created a modest database system to allow staff to control access to the special content and to provide reporting on usage.
If you're planning a trip abroad and are looking for reading, you should really own one or more books from Whereabouts Press. A small publishing company, they provide unique literary companions for travelers and other groups. We redesigned their web site in 2007 and established their online store. In 2008, we added a weblog they use to provide even richer information about the locations in their books.
This Wisconsin-based mechanical design and engineering company came to us needing an update to their existing web site. We helped simplify their site, improve and target their copy, and reinforce their brand through our design. We also created Flash components for navigation and for their media player.
The International POPs Elimination Network, a global NGO with anti-toxics programs in over 65 countries, asked us to help create a friendlier, more accessible image. We recommended they simplfy their web site, create web access points for underserved audiences, and create a short video to help explain their mission. Together we created a five minute introduction to the problem of persistent organic pollutants, their effects, and what IPEN is doing to eliminate them as a global health threat.
We adapted existing branding and packaging to create this company's product web site. In 2010, the company plans to add information about their stables of food products.
Jewish Healing Center, Los Angeles
The JHCLA provides spiritual healing, hospice, and other services to victims of cancer. We designed their web site in 2007, which includes a Flash intro and a dynamic custom calendar.
CVC Solution wanted a site that was straight-forward and yet provided something unique. Our design incorporates notions of connecting devices together and uses a Flash intro/overlay to accomplish the animation.
Marketing Over Time
Providing our Flash programming expertise and design capabilities, we have provided assistance on a number of projects, including banners and special recognition promotions.
Gigantic Idea Studio
Using many of our design, motion, and technical skills, in 2004 we designed a web site for an Oakland-based sustainable marketing firm. From illustrations to Flash animations, we retained the client's desire for a fun, yet professional image. (Gigantic's logo was designed by CHD Studios/Ampersand Communications.)
Sierra At Home
We designed and programmed Sierra At Home's "Complete Home Design Guide", a standalone HTML product to accompany their 3D Home Design products.
We have designed promotional pages and animated graphics in support of Logitech's popular QuickCam line of computer-based video cameras as well as their standalone digital camera.
We wrote and designed the manuals and online help for The PrintShop 10 and The PrintShop 11, Broderbund's premiere desktop publishing package.
We have also designed and programmed HTML based help systems for Broderbund.
Working with CHD Studios and Arcadia Marketing, programmed the Vacaville recycling website, and consulted on aspects of its design.
Todd Keffury, Copywriter
Needing a web site to promote his copywriting expertise, we created a design based on his business cards that features his online portfolio of original and often humorous direct mail and marketing campaigns.
Virginia Huber, Artist
We created a web site for this Madison, WI-based watercolor artist with an eye toward preserving the intimate feel of her work. The site includes a weblog section that allows the artist to interact with students, collectors and admirers.
With CHD Studios (now Ampersand Communications), we designed and programmed the RAPS Cards website, a site offering beautiful hand-folded holiday, event, and greeting cards.
In 1999, we designed the logos, brochures, business cards, and website for this company seeking to help Internet businesses with their interstate sales.
Tim Warner Sculpture
In addition to being our founder, Tim Warner is also a working sculptor. We designed this website to display his fine-art work.
